Swinney gives Monday injury updates

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney updated the health situation for a secondary that's been banged up, especially recently.

Swinney said he expects Mark Fields (foot) back this week. The starting cornerback has missed each of the last three games.

The Tigers' head coach is looking to get senior cornerback Marcus Edmond (foot) back in the mix this weekend versus Citadel as well, which would be his first action since week two in the first series against Auburn.

"Marcus Edmond came back this (last) week," Swinney said on his call-in show Monday. "We just didn't play him. Hopefully we can get him back in the flow this week. He can definitely help us down the stretch.

"He's played a lot of football (in recent seasons) for us too."

Swinney says starting safety Tanner Muse (hand) should see a few more snaps in upcoming games as well.

"They've got him in a much smaller cast that's cut down and he will have a lot more flexibility in his wrist and stuff," Swinney said.
