Swinney gives injury updates on Kevin Dodd, Mike Williams

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said after practice on Wednesday night that defensive end Kevin Dodd will play against North Carolina State even though Dodd was seen in a walking boot after the Miami game. Swinney said during his weekly press conference that Dodd is suffering from a case of plantar fasciitis.

Dodd has been solid this season with 29 tackles and 4.5 sacks.

Swinney said wide receiver Mike Williams will switch to a soft neck brace next week from his current hard brace but he still doesn't know if Williams will be able to return this football season.

Williams had two catches for 20 yards and a touchdown against Wofford in the first game of the 2015 season before unfortunately colliding with a goal post and leaving the game with a fracture in his neck area.

Defensive tackle Jabril Robinson (knee) will be held out of the NC State game according to Swinney while offensive lineman Ryan Norton is "looking the best he has" since injuring his knee early in September.

Robinson has been a regular contributor on the defensive line and has seven tackles and a sack on the season.

A decision on Norton will be made later in the week.
