Clemson pulled off the upset on Signing Day this past February signing CJ Spiller. Spiller was the top rated player in the sunshine state for 2006. The Tigers would love to make a dent in Florida once again, but early on there is ground to be made up.
One of the top players in Florida is likely to be Alphonso Bryant. Clemson is slated to only take one more wide receiver, but they would not turn down a player of Bryant's caliber. Currently, the Tigers are sitting on the outside looking in with Bryant. "Miami and Florida State are my favorites right now. Both of them always compete for National Championships and send wide receivers to the NFL." Bryant is the cousin of J.R. Bryant at Florida State. "He talks to me a lot. He tells me they could use a playmaker like me to get to the big game." It is early, but Bryant fits the profile of a player who will visit FSU the last weekend in January and sign with the Seminoles.
