Barquell Rivers has quietly put together about 15 offers heading into June. Rivers is a very intelligent play on the field and off the field.
"One of things I am most proud of is my SAT score. I scored a 1345 on the SAT. My family has always stressed academics first, and it has helped me to be successful in the classroom and in football." Clemson, Florida State, South Carolina, Michigan, Louisville have all offered the Wadesboro standout among others. Rivers does not have a top five, but he is not far away. "I am really about to start looking at this hard. My decision is going to happen in the summer. I don't have a top five yet, but we are going to work through things pretty quickly." Rivers could bulk up and play linebacker or safety at the next level. He did take some time to talk about Clemson and Billy Napier. "Clemson is a good school. I know they have a very high graduation rate. Coach Napier sent me some stuff with their graduation rates, and I think they were #2 among top 25 teams. Academics will play a big role in my decision. Coach Napier stays in touch with his letters pretty frequently. He makes you feel like a friend, and that is important to me." We will continue to track Rivers as he draws closer to a decision this summer.
