Dorman WR Adam Humphries was slated to take in his official visit to Clemson this past weekend, but had a little action to take care of on the basketball court first.

Humphries plays point guard for the Cavaliers, and he scored 13 points as Dorman edged Riverside by one point. Following the game, his teammate and fellow Clemson recruit, Charone Peake, met wide receivers coach Jeff Scott at Outback for a quick meal before heading to Clemson.

Humphries said playing basketball helps him on the football field.

“Being a point guard helps you be a vocal leader,” Humphries told TigerNet. “But playing football also helps in basketball. In football, I was an offensive and defensive captain, and I think they both kind of play a part in setting a good example for the other players, and being a leader.”

Humphries was recruited by a few Southern Conference schools to play basketball, but he said he wants to concentrate on football.

“I have always wanted to play football for Clemson, and right now I am fully concentrated on football,” he said.

Humphries said it was a busy weekend.

“On Saturday, we woke up and had breakfast with everybody,” he said. “And then we went to Vickery Hall, and we spent a lot of time there before heading to lunch at the WestZone. Then we went in the locker rooms, and ran down the hill, and then we went out to eat Saturday night. Then we just hung out with our hosts for a while.”
