From GoVols Extra:

The 6-3, 290-pound Guillermo got the idea to graduate early from Robinette in the spring semester of their junior year.

Clemson, his dream school, offered him a scholarship on National Signing Day. He committed the next day and had no interest in being courted by other schools.

"Coach Quarles, I just had him tell colleges, 'Don't even bother.' Miami wanted me down there really bad," said Guillermo. "I ended up just ignoring them."

The only things Guillermo stood to lose by leaving early were prom and graduation. Clemson allows mid-term enrollees to return for those events.

"When you would think about it, there were more good things to come out of it than setbacks," said Guillermo, who will play Jan. 5 in the Under-Armour All-American Game in San Antonio.
