4-star 2016 defensive end
Chidi Okonya
Chidi Okonya Okonya chose Tennessee over his other finalists Duke, Clemson, Ole Miss and Stanford. He had national offers from California, Cincinnati, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Southern, LSU, Marshall, Miami, Minnesota, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Missouri, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Stanford, Tennessee, Virginia, Wake Forest and Wisconsin. Clemson offered on 5/9/14. Duke was actually the first school to offer him. As a junior, he had 21 tackles, a tackle for loss and a sack in 8 games and was named to the All-Region team. Okonya visited the 2014 Dabo Swinney football camp in June. He is a very smart student and was nominated for the Governor's Honor program. Okonya becomes the 10th commitment for Tennessee for their 2016 class and its first defensive lineman commitment.
