South Carolina's number one prospect was on hand Saturday for the 29-7 Clemson victory. This was Byrd's second visit to Clemson this year, and once again came away impressed.
"I had a good time. I talked to Coach Bowden for awhile on the field. I watched the receivers a little bit." One thing that amazed Byrd was he had numerous fans ask for his autograph. "A lot of people recognized me. It was really exciting for me signing the autographs. I never thought that many people would recognize me." Byrd declined comment on Saturday's altercation. He rather wanted to focus on the success of his former high school teammate Reggie Merriweather. "I felt good for him. I was really happy for him. He got his chance to shine. Man, I am just really happy for him." Byrd has set an official visit with Clemson on January 14. Byrd has not set official visits with FSU or Georgia at this time. Byrd stated that Clemson, Southern Cal, Georgia, and FSU all remain even.
