Irmo High School (the country's best high school) has another star that has recruiters flocking its halls.

Martin Frierson (6-2, 180) is one of the top wide receivers in a great year for wide outs in South Carolina this season.

As a junior Frierson had 23 catches for 550 yards and three touchdowns. His on the field abilities have coaching offering but his academics are another of Frierson's strong points. "I take pride in my work in the class room," says the Honor Roll student. "My first SAT attempt yielded a 1030."

Frierson already has a couple of major offers. "Notre Dame and Vanderbilt have offered so far. I am also hearing from Clemson, N.C. State, Miami, USC, Georgia, Maryland and Georgia Tech. I would say my top five would be Miami, Clemson, Notre Dame, Auburn and Maryland."

A few weeks ago we spoke with George Butler, the wide receiver coach at Irmo. Butler says, "He is a terrific receiver and a good young man. We have had some good ones here but this kid runs well, jumps well, plays hard, etc. He is deserving of those offers."

Frierson says, "Brad Scott has been recruiting me for a couple of years. I went to the one-day camp at Clemson and enjoyed it."

The Yellow Jacket runs a 4.45 forty, benches 270 and squats 430.
