"Winning the state championship is the goal," says Justin Mincey. "Bringing back a runner-up trophy is not an option."

It is that type of determination that separates Mincey from many of the defensive ends prospects across the country. This is a prospect that some feel is one of the top five defensive ends in America. Last season Mincey had 87 tackles and nine sacks.

"I just want to become a complete player," says the Folkston, GA star. "We have put out some great players here and I want to be mentioned with them." Those players include recent stars like Champ Bailey, Boss Bailey and Marquis Elsmore. "I am second in school history in sacks and I would love to break the record."

"Recruiting is going well. I have been offered by Miami, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, USC, Notre Dame, Clemson, LSU, SOuth Carolina and Virginia. Right now, I just want to stay wide open. I really don't have a top five or anything. I am giving every school that has offered me a fair shot. I may trim my list soon but I want to stay open for now."

At 6-6 and 255, the Charlton County High School star knows he can grow into a very athletic interior defender one day but he is noted for is pass rushing skills off of the edge. Mincey says he wants to improve his 275-pound bench press and 505-pound squat. He also wants to get qualified as soon as possible. "I am waiting my first SAT scores but I think it won't be a problem."

Each year college coaches make Charlton County High School a mandatory stop. This year they found another future star. One coach says, "Mincey has good athleticism and speed. He has great wing span and is athletic enough to play in any program in America."
