4-star 2016 wide receiver Diondre Overton from Greensboro, N.C committed to Clemson over his other finalist North Carolina State during the Semper Fidelis All-Star game on Sunday night.
"I'll be taking my talents to Clemson," Overton said on the live television broadcast. "I just felt like Clemson would give me a better shot at the next level. I feel like they develop their wide receivers really well." His future Clemson teammates T.J. Chase, Sean Pollard and J.C. Chalk were also playing at the event. Overton is a consensus 4-star wide receiver recruit by all the major recruiting services. TigerNet watched him at the latest Dabo Swinney football camp and he has some similarities skill-wise of a Mike Williams in the same age in high school. He has tremendous upside in Clemson's offense and will be a big jump ball threat with his height for years to come. In 2014, he had 70 catches for over 1200 yards and 11 touchdowns. Overton has early offers from Boston College, Clemson, Duke, East Carolina, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Carolina State, South Carolina, Wake Forest, West Virginia and Old Dominion. Clemson offered on 12/8/14. He is also a standout basketball prospect that had an offer from Virginia Tech. Congrats to my boy @RainMan_4 on committing to Clemson #ALLIN
