Another Venables is headed to Tiger Town.
3-star 2020 safety Tyler Venables from Central S.C. announced his commitment to Clemson on Sunday morning. "I am committing to Clemson University," he posted on Twitter. Venables passed for 3,006 yards and 26 touchdowns this past season, with four interceptions. He completed nearly 67 percent of his passes. He also rushed for 890 yards and 28 touchdowns as a junior. He is the son of Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables and the brother of Clemson linebacker Jake Venables. His football offers included Clemson, Coastal Carolina, Jacksonville State, Nevada, and Wake Forest. His first offer was from Nevada back in November 2017. Clemson is recruiting him at the safety position as he is an impressive athlete. In the recent 'The Opening Charlotte' combine, he had the third highest testing rate of all the defensive backs at 106.17. Some of his measurables included a laser timed 4.53 40-yard dash, 3.95 shuttle, 34.4-inch vertical jump, 4.40 shuttle time, 455-pound squat, 39.5-foot power toss, and 320-pound bench press. I am committing to Clemson University. Congrats. Celebratory bench press later? https://t.co/wdyecBvTYp Great Day to be a Clemson Tiger?? #WE2DEEP20 #ALLIN
