3-star defensive back Troy Pride from Greer, South Carolina committed to Notre Dame over Clemson, North Carolina and Virginia Tech on Thursday according to his Twitter account.
Pride was a former Virginia Tech commit back in February but re-opened his commitment in mid-November due to coaching changes and received new offers including Clemson. The in-state defensive back had national offers from App State, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Marshall, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech. He had 1,562 all-purpose yards and 20 touchdowns playing wide receiver and returning kicks on offense this season and was named Region II-3A Player of the Year and has been invited to play in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl.
