, a 2017 offensive tackle prospect out of Orlando (FL) Bishop Moore, told TigerNet that Clemson was the one offer he has been waiting to receive.

“It means a lot to me because that's the number one school I really want to go to,” MacCollister told TigerNet. “I knew a little about Clemson through (teammate) Parker BoudreauxParker Boudreaux

. He told me about his visit up there and said it was very beautiful and that he loved the campus. But, that's all I really knew about Clemson. But I had watched them play on TV and loved them.”

MacCollister said there were a few Clemson players that stood out.

“I remember a lot of players, like Vic Beasley, who just went in the draft,” he said. “I think their defense and their coaching staff is really phenomenal. I like how the coaches are. They seem very caring about their players. I just like the coaching staff and all of the Clemson players.”

MacCollister is listed as an offensive tackle by many of the recruiting services, but the 6-4, 245-pounder said his heart is on the other side of the ball.

“I would love to play defensive line. To me, it's a different type of attitude on the defensive line,” he said. “You’re more of a dog on the defensive line. You have to get after it. There's just something about being able to hit the offensive players - the quarterback, the running back - it gives me the biggest thrill.”

Boudreaux is one of Clemson’s top targets for the 2016 recruiting cycle, and MacCollister said he has been getting to know his teammate. The two will probably even travel together on a trip to Clemson at some point in June.

“I met Parker a year ago and then I went to a Rivals camp with him and got close there,” he said. “Then I transferred over to Bishop Moore this semester and we've grown really close as teammates. I don't know really when I am going to make it Clemson, not an exact date, but I'm supposed to make a trip up with Parker. That's what our plan is, for us to go up together.”

MacCollister said that while a school’s football program will factor heavily into his decision, so will academics.

“The first thing is great academics. That is really important in my life is my academics,” he said. “They will have to have really good football facilities, so I can develop as a player and get my body where it needs to be. They have to have a dedicated coaching staff where they are caring about the players and are on track with the players. Most importantly they have to feel like family. I know that Parker says Clemson feels like a big family.”

So where does Clemson stand after getting his offer, joining a list of schools that includes Boston College, South Florida, Cincinnati and Duke?

“They are definitely high on my list,” he said.
