says his recruiting is wide open, but there is no doubt that the Clemson Tigers are making a strong push.

Droogsma is a 6-3, 300-pound offensive lineman out of Gulf Breeze, Fla., that visited Clemson last weekend, just a week after visiting Florida St., the school where his father is an alum. Droogsma also has offers from the Noles, Georgia Tech and South Florida.

Droogsma got an offer from the Tigers in late January and made a visit to the Clemson campus last fall, but last weekend’s visit was really his first chance to check out the entire campus. He said he liked what he saw.

“I came up earlier in the fall for a visit, but that was just a quick walk-around, it wasn’t really as in detail as Junior Day was,” Droogsma told TigerNet. “Going up to Clemson last weekend was a really great experience, and I can now say that I have been turned on to Clemson. They are building and doing great things there. They really, really impressed me while I was up there.”

He said the chance to sit down and actually talk to all of the coaches played a big part.

“I talked with Coach [Chad] Morris, Coach [Jeff] Scott, Coach [Danny] Pearman and Coach [Robbie] Caldwell,” he said. “It was actually my first time meeting Coach Caldwell, so that was good. They just wanted me to know that basically they are doing things right up there, and they are building what they believe is a championship program. I can see what they are doing, and they are definitely making progress. They are going to be a force to be reckoned with very soon.”

Another highlight of his visit was seeing the spoils of an ACC Championship.

“When we were in the locker room, they had all the gear laid out,” he said. “And they had some of the championship rings on display. That was cool to see. They also had jerseys that you could try on, so that was pretty cool, because I have never gotten to do that anywhere else.”

Droogsma said that he is going to take his time with his recruitment, but Clemson is definitely at or near the top of his list.

“There are no outright leaders right now, and I don’t plan on making a decision anytime soon,” he said. “I am just enjoying this whole process, and this is really just the tip of the iceberg. I really don’t have a favorite right now, but I will say that Clemson did impress me and that they are going to be there when it comes time to make a decision. They will be right there at the top.”
