by -

Justin Miller, a three-year starter at cornerback and the ACC's career leader in kickoff return average, announced on January, 5 2005 that he will forego his senior year of eligibility and enter the NFL draft this April. He will be keeping of a diary of his training and the events surrounding the NFL draft for TigerNet.

Justin Miller's first Diary Entry

Here are just a few things that I can think of that we do on a daily basis.

This is a typical week for me.

Monday- We do resistance training on the track at 9 a.m. After we finish we

do an upper body workout. This is very intense. We finish up around noon and

break until 4p.m. At 4 p.m. we return and basically practice doing agility

drills or different drills from the combine.

Tuesday- We'll do some kind of training again on the track whether it is

stride enhancement, starts, conditioning or something of that nature. The

workout following that is directed toward lower body. We do a series of lower

body workouts ranging from squats, explosion exercises, and vertimax.

Wednesday- Defensive backs have footwork and drills with a pro corner at 7:30 a.m. Then at 9 a.m. we run two miles for conditioning. The rest of the day we have

off. Around 5 p.m. I have an appointment scheduled for a massage. This is set up by agent Eugene Parker. This massage is scheduled twice a

week. On Saturday at 3 p.m. also.

Thursday- Basically is the same as Monday.

Friday- Same as Tuesday.

Saturday- We do 4x8 on bench press (according to your strength) and then you have

the rest of the day off.

It's been a real demanding training program, but over these last four weeks I

feel like I've only gotten stronger and solidified myself as one of the top

corners in the draft.

Oh! Last week we went up to Mobile, AL for the Senior Bowl practice on

Tuesday and met with a bunch of GM's, coaches, and scouts from various teams. It

was interesting to see how the actually evaluated talent. Everyone just looked at you like you were a piece of meat.
