Chris Register Chris Register TigerNet spoke with his father, Chris Register, Sr. who said that the Clemson coaches wanted the younger Register to explore all of his options before committing to a school. “I think that decision has always been at the back of his mind,” Chris Register, Sr. told TigerNet Thursday evening. “Clemson was one of the first schools to give him any recognition as a good football player and that really stuck out to him. Even when Clemson offered him early, they didn’t pressure him like some other schools. They gave him the opportunity to go out and visit other schools and let him make up his own mind before making a decision.” The elder Register said that now that the decision has been made, he knows that Chris will fit in well at Clemson. “We are really excited. If that’s his choice, then we are behind him all of the way,” Register Sr. said. “Clemson is the place that he is the most comfortable. The times we’ve been down there as a family, we have enjoyed the atmosphere and the coaching staff. We are just really happy for him.” Register chose Clemson over Auburn, Florida St., Kentucky, Miami, North Carolina, N.C. State, Tennessee, and others. The 6-3, 230 pound linebacker accounted for 110 tackles, nine tackles for loss, seven sacks, two interceptions, five forced fumbles, and three pass break-ups during his junior season. During his sophomore season he only appeared in nine games; howver, he registered 89 tackles, 8.5 sacks, two interceptions, six pass breakups and three forced fumbles. I just want to thank everybody in support of my decision #GoTigers #CU #WeToDeep
