Three-star lineman according to Rivals.com… All-Region, All-District and All-State his senior year at George Washington HS… named to second team of the Associated Press’ Virginia Group AAA football team … 3A Defensive Player of the Year… Virginia Shrine Bowl MVP… played for Coach Everett Woods at George Washington HS and Coach Robert Prunty at Hargrave Military Academy… chose Clemson over Arkansas, East Carolina and Florida State.
More on McDuffie: McDuffie attended George Washington High School in Danville, VA before his year at Hargrave. He selected Clemson over Florida State, Arkansas and Ole Miss. Bench presses 400 lbs. Had offers from Florida State, Central Michigan and East Carolina. McDuffie said he chose Clemson in part because the players’ days are regimented. He said he wanted to be a part of a disciplined program. Before he went to Hargrave, he would have avoided such a regimen, but now he welcomes it. He could end up on the offensive or defensive line. Recruited by Thielen Smith.
Quoting McDuffie: “They won’t let you fail. They support the idea of having you come there and your main purpose of coming there is to get a degree.”
“I’m a better run blocker than pass blocker. I can do both, but I’m better at run blocking.”
“(Hargrave Military) was kind of tough at first. I didn’t know anything about the military. It was tough knowing that I had to go there to get my grades and the SAT score.
