Former Clemson redshirt sophomore quarterback Zerrick Cooper will transfer to Jacksonville State according to his Twitter account on Tuesday.

"Happy to be a part of the @JSUGamecocksFB," Cooper posted.

Cooper, as a redshirt freshman, attempted 41 passes with a 61 completion rate for 256 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions last season. He had ten carries for 18 yards as well.

He announced last Friday that he was transferring from Clemson with a thoughtful note to Clemson nation.

"Thank you to Coach Swinney, the Clemson staff & the best fans in college football for an incredible two years," Cooper posted. "The memories & relationships I have built with my teammates will be truly unforgettable. I will miss playing in Orange & Purple. However, after much prayer & thinking with my family, I have decided to transfer from Clemson University. This is no reflection on the Clemson family but rather a direct reflection of my drive to lead, play & compete. Orange & Purple will always be in my heart."

He will be immediately eligible to play next season at the FCS school in Alabama.

The Jonesboro, Georgia native was a four-star prospect, rated as the fourth-best player out of Georgia by ESPN and as high as the No. 7 QB in his class (247Sports). As a senior, he passed for over 2,000 yards and 21 touchdowns.
