D.J. Uiagalelei ranked second in 2021 Heisman Trophy odds |
Clemson has had an embarrassment of riches at the quarterback position in recent memory.
Tajh Boyd started a run of talented signal-callers, then entered All-World Deshaun Watson, followed by ultra-talented Trevor Lawrence, and now gifted D.J Uiagalelei will likely be the starter next season for the Tigers. As a true freshman, Uiagalelei completed 78-for-117 passes for 914 yards and five touchdowns this past season. On the ground, he had 10 rushes for 28 yards and four more scores. CBS SportsLine released their way-too-early odds for the 2021 Heisman Award and had Uiagalelei ranked with second-best odds at +400. The player with the top odds was Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler (+300), followed by Uiagalelei, then North Carolina quarterback Sam Howell (+600), Miami quarterback D'Eriq King (+750), Alabama quarterback Bryce Young (+1000), and USC quarterback Kedon Slovis (+1200).
