Ben Boulware signs with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent after not being drafted in the 2017 NFL Draft. The Panthers were his childhood favorite team.
GM Dave Gettleman confirmed that the #Panthers signed @ClemsonFB LB Ben Boulware (@benboulware7) as an undrafted free agent. Cool news on @benboulware7 . The @ClemsonFB LB plans on inking as an Undrafted Free Agent w/ his childhood favorite Carolina Panthers. @gmfb #Clemson LB Ben Boulware to the Panthers as an UDFA, per source Boulware was a two-year starter at linebacker who left a legacy after serving as Clemson’s top backup in 2014. He posted 352 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, five interceptions, 41 quarterback pressures, 10 pass breakups, six caused fumbles and four recovered fumbles in 2,131 snaps over 53 games (31 starts) in his career. He had 17 career double-figure tackle games, and Clemson was 16-1 in those games. Like I said 3 days ago...I'm in the business of proving people wrong. All I need is an opportunity. In 2016, Boulware was named Jack Lambert Award as nation’s top linebacker and second-team All-American by AFCA, Football Writers Association, Phil Steele, USA Today and Walter Camp. He was the team leader on Clemson's national title team with 131 tackles in 882 snaps (14 starts) and added 11.5 tackles for loss and four sacks. Local boy makes good and brings a championship to his hometown school... quite a story.
Now just sit back & watch.
