Watched a lot of Clemson and ACC in my 56 years

So I know better than to expect too much from Clemson in the tournament. However, this one is particularly hard to swallow. I can understand losing to Duke, UNC, UVA, NC State, Maryland etc all those years when they were just plain better. But, I thought this year set up great for us. Win today and beat Tech tomorrow and we are in the semis. UNC and Duke are down, who knows what could happen. The league as a whole is down and we can't win one flippin tournament game. Come on man. That's weak.

49 years here and I’ve decided we will never be good in basketball. Not worth expecting anything other than pathetic, disgusting losses.

The better players lost, and the best coach won, and there is no better way to put it, or see it!!! HC Larranaga would most likely win the ACC championship with our team, and take our guys deep into the NCAA tournament!!!

There’s probably a good bit of truth to that take.

Oh well, what do you expect? I remember us being down 1 in the ACC Tourney when Carolina with Roche, Riker, Ribbock and Standard, 10 seconds on the clock, with the ball, and Dickie Foster dribbles the ball off his leg out of bounds and we lose the game. Never, never get your hopes up on Clemson Basketball. You will be disappointed. Come on Spring Game.

Your right. Too many heartbreaks to count. I remember 87 when we had Grant and were up on WF by 20 and lost in the 1st round and so on and so on.

No one has more loyal fans that my Tigers!!!!!
Clemson must be a great university to turn out so many “fans” who have never lost at anything in their life. I sure wish that I was one.
Anxiously awaiting the invite to the big dance.

Well this loss puts us in a 8-9 matchup which a win sends us to a one seed and out.

I was at a game where everyone was lined up for a foul shot and when the refs werent watching Ribbock back handed Foster in the face which immediately drew blood from Foster. No one said or did anything. McGuire was a nasty dirty coach.

Very disappointing. Poor defense by our guards and a lack in drives to the basket for a shot or assist. Three pointers were great, but we have to have open shooters to make them.

I guess this isn't as bad as losing to a winless WF team in the first round as a #1 seed...
But what is?

I love our players. They are all fine young men, great ambassadors for Clemson and I hate it for them that we lost. But strictly talking basketball apparently two good players, a couple of roll players, and a walk-on guard are better than one pretty good player and ten average players. I hope that another year or two of experience will turn average players into good players. We just don't have the clout to get freshmen in that can make a difference.

nothing ever changes. You'd think at some point we'd just luck up, and have a "once in a lifetime team" like so many other schools have done. But no, it's just not in the cards apparently.

Clemson is one of the very first member schools of the ACC, and we have never won the ACC championship game in Basketball, and the truth hurts, and it's embarrassing when Radio, and TV personalities mentioned that fact on the air!!!!
