Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney told the media a week ago that he has been pleased with the progress and availability of defensive end Xavier Thomas during the spring, but defensive coordinator Brent Venables admitted Wednesday that Thomas has been “snakebit” and once again has missed time. Praying the big fella hangs in there and gets right between now and fall camp. Hate to hear he's banged up again with shoulder issues. We sure are having issues with injury all over.

Worst thing is the "protocol" stuff. Get it straight XT, don't fall into the DK trap. You can a bright future ahead or a really tough life with many regrets as you are.

Gets healthy first and foremost. Seems like he really had a battle with the Covid.

Secondly, I hope he gets to an ideal weight, gets that speed and power back.

If those first two things happen, I think his confidence will grow and see him playing his best ball this year.

XT looks like he's out of shape and twice the size of freshman XT. Unlike Murphy who has clearly become more chiseled as a soph, XT is rounder. Hope he can get in shape and help the team - but he looks more like a coach for now.
