Kirk Herbstreit: Trevor Lawrence will be able to handle pressure of going No. 1

Kirk Herbstreit is baffled by those who think Trevor Lawrence won't be able to handle the pressure of the NFL, saying that Lawrence has known this kind of pressure since he was in middle school. Full Story »

If he belches or breaks win someone will be saying it shows he didn’t deserve to be number 1.

If he can stay mostly healthy for 10 years, he'll be in the NFL HOF as well as The ROH at Clemson. Wonder if I could get that bet in Vegas? ?? Not with the (mostly healthy) clause.

Even though he is from Georgia, Trevor Lawrence to me

has always had that "California cool surfer dude" vibe. Nothing fazes him. And, he has pretty much been living with huge "down the road" NFL expectations ever since 9th grade. It is old hat to him by now. As long as he and Urbane Meyer get along, I don't forsee any problems for him in the NFL.

I know nobody here knows me, but I have been more than an avid follower of recruiting for decades. I've seen all the top QBs in high school or their film and as far as I am concerned Trevor Lawrence is the best I've ever seen at that level. He's just an incredible talent.
I hope things work out well for him in Jacksonville. I don't have much faith in Urban Meyer as an NFL coach, but we will see.
