Does anyone know if UGA is a JUCO?

Mar 28, 2021, 7:01 AM

They seem to have a lot of players transfer to bigger name programs after a year or two. This is a serious question that I can’t seem to find a definitive answer to.

I think all they offer is an associates degree.

It’s more of a prep school. If any of their players are good enough, they know they have to transfer to a real school for the opportunity to compete for a national championship.

I’m not sure they meet the academic requirements and may have

Too many arrests to officially qualify for a JUCO but otherwise your comparison is spot on.

My cousin was accepted to GT through their bridge program...

He had to go to UGA for 2 semesters, then was allowed to officially enroll at GT.

Can't imagine they'd accept any of his credit hours for the classes he took at uga.

More for learning life skills such as not getting shot, which is valuable in the ATL.

I've read stuff on the world wide interweb that suggests UGA offers 4-year degrees, but of course it's hard to know how accurate that is. In travels through Georgia I've met people who claim to have attended, but when I ask what they studied I'm usually met with a blank stare and then they go back to bussing the table. Their fans mostly seem to be preoccupied with weightlifting. Odd bunch.
