Only judging by his intelligence on the field I would say Ben Boulware. He played well above his natural physical build due to his drive, and his knowledge of the defense. I'd also say Christian Wilkins, but he won't be available for several more years.

I would like to see Stephone Anthony because of his career in the NFL. BJ Goodson would be awesome as well. I think they would be phenomenal at player development given their track record. You hear NFL scouts talk about our WRs improving from a technical standpoint under Grisham. I think the same thing will happen with our RBs under Spiller. I think Anthony or Goodson would have a similar impact on LBs, if/when BV decides to leave.

Ben Boulware was an Under Armour All-American in high school.
I would say he played on par with his projected ability.

I said above his physical build. He wasn't the biggest or fastest linebacker, but he played at a very high level. I was only saying that his football IQ combined with his high motor helped him to get to the high level of play.

Interesting poast.
I was just thinking how Dabo has created a coaching development school open to former players. In fact the last coach we hired that wasn’t a former player in my memory was Mike Reed or Brent Venables.

Todd Bates, Lemanski Hall, and Mickey Conn aren't former players. I just think getting former NFL players, that were also former Tigers, on the staff would be awesome. The player development would be even better IMO. Grisham is going to make our WRs better. Spiller is going to make our RBs better. We have a lot of former players that are coming to the end of their NFL careers. Would be nice to get them on the staff.

Of names I have seen mentioned, I think BJ Goodson is the best option out of former players with an NFL career.
There are some other great options I think who may or may not have had an NFL career.
I think Kendall Joseph would be another great option to help with LBs.
Da'Quan Bowers is currently coaching with Jeff Scott at USF and I think he did very well when he was a grad assistant at Clemson.
Rod McDowell seems like one who would be great with RBs.
Robert Smith or Coty Sensabaugh would probably get my vote for the DB positions.

Brentson Buckner with Grady Jarrett coaching the DL. Definitely Boulware and Renfrow. It’s awesome to see how many players are getting into coaching. Have to think Dabo’s impact in their life has led a lot of them to seeing the value of the profession.
Go Tigers!
