Does anyone know of anyone that caught

Mar 29, 2021, 3:33 PM

The Chinese virus at a gathering of people? Do you ever remember catching a cold due to visiting a clemson game? If not then I think Death Valley is ready for full capacity.

I am sure there 10's of thousands who have. How would they know for sure generally? I had it and I am not sure where I got it. Maybe the bar? Maybe a restaurant? The supermarket? Gas station? No idea. One thing that is for sure is that DV can open up with some solid crowds even if not max capacity.

Friend went to bachelorette party 20-30 people at a bar. More than half got it. All were fine after 2-3 weeks. Friend said it sucked really bad and was worse than the flu for her. But she fine. She was down 20 days. This was last July.

Well most likely they developed pneumonia from complications of Covid.

Mar 29, 2021, 8:40 PM

You can try to minimize it if you wish, but they would not have died if someone hadn’t come to the funeral with the coronavirus. That’s like saying someone didn’t die from a car wreck but they died from massive brain hemorrhage during a car wreck so it isn’t because of the car wreck.

Had a former coworker die after catching it a funeral - so yeah outside. Youngerish, healthy guy too. I don't mess with it. And I think I caught the flu at the 2008 coot game (really tailgating but still).

My bet is that DV will be close to normal occupancy but no where near normal.
Those folks like me with kids are going to stay at home - and I thiunk that is driving down demand. It is one thing to pay for them but if you are not taking them and hiring a sitter etc, that is a lot. Not worth the risk. It is a fight with small kid's attention span anyway but also I expect the kid entertainment (my son's sole mission in life is to high-five the tiger until his arm falls off) and fun options are going to be dialed back. I also don't want to be running the risk that they are going to be home due to their own school's protocol if they catch it or a sibling/family is exposed. If the kiddy vaccines hit, then maybe, but I don't see that happening as quickly as I would hope.

Yes know of numerous people including family members

Mar 29, 2021, 4:29 PM

that have gotten it...some it was no more than cold like symptoms while others it knocked for a loop and lasted 3-4 weeks. A few ended up in the hospital but luckily no deaths. I think our administration will listen to the scientist and health experts and not some moron on a message board...

My in laws got it at a gathering in a casino.

Hey tired tiger, just don’t try to operate any heavy machinery, please do not attempt to split atoms in your spare time, but do continue to follow your orange reality TV star and you’ll be just fine. Oh, and one more suggestion, please do not practice medicine.

Indoor or outdoor?

Mar 30, 2021, 6:30 PM

I got COVID at a gathering of about 40 people indoor, socially-distanced, and masked entering and exiting.
