Who is this 'Bobby Buckets' that people are talking in basketball circles?

The mystery man is senior guard Gabe Devoe who has spearheaded Clemson's basketball program to their first Sweet 16 appearance since 1997.

DeVoe scored 22 points in each NCAA Tournament game, the first Clemson player to have consecutive 20 point scoring games since Elden Campbell did it in the 1989 NCAA Tournament. The points are crucial but he is also shooting at a very elite clip in those two games with a .643 field goal percentage and .571 three-point rate.

In 2017, Devoe is averaging 13.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. For his career, he has moved into No. 9 all-time for three-pointers made with 166 treys including this long-distance bomb:

Sporting New released their rankings of the top remaining players left in the 2018 NCAA Tournament and had Devoe ranked No. 4 overall behind the trio of Kentucky point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Texas Tech guard Keenan Evans, and Duke power forward Marvin Bagley.

"As it continues to paper over the gap left by Donte Grantham’s injury, Clemson has been at its best when DeVoe has scored well," Sporting News said. "The Tigers are 8-0 this season when he scores 20 or more points."

Clemson Basketball's 31-point second-round win over Auburn is the largest win margin for the Tigers in NCAA Tournament play (previous 13 vs. St. Mary's 1989) and the largest victory so far in this year's NCAA Tournament. The 25 wins by the Tigers this season is tied for a school record.

The next chance to see DeVoe AKA 'Bobby Buckets' and his teammates will be on Friday at 7:07 p.m. EST in the regional semifinals against Kansas. The game will be televised nationally on CBS.
