Clemson lands graduate transfer forward

Graduate transfer forward Javan White told TigerNet he committed to Clemson Saturday evening.

White (6-10 230) has two seasons to play and will be eligible immediately after his graduation Saturday from Oral Roberts. He averaged 10.2 points and nine rebounds per game last season.

"This has been a long journey in finding a new school but I’m thankful for my family and close friends who have supported me along the way!" White posted on Instagram Saturday. "God has been more than good throughout this process. This new journey will be full of challenges and growth but I’m very excited about the opportunity to be a Clemson Tiger."

He led Oral Roberts with nine double-doubles, including two 20/10 games, and scored a career-high 25 points with 11 rebounds in a win over Florida Gulf Coast. He used a redshirt year in the 2016-17 campaign due to a knee injury.

White picked Clemson over LSU, after recent visits to both schools.

He is an Ames, Iowa native who broke former UNC product Harrison Barnes’ state blocks record (127).

White is a second forward to make a transfer commitment in the last few weeks, as UNC-Asheville's Jonathan Baehre (6-9 205) will be eligible starting the 2019-20 season. Baehre averaged 7.4 points and 4.6 rebounds last season.

Clemson loses three forwards off of the 2017-18 roster in Mark Donnal, David Skara and Donte Grantham.
