Overview: Member of Clemson’s five-man signing class for 2011, he was one of three guards signed by Brad Brownell’s staff…scoring guard by trade, he took some time adapting to Brownell’s system and struggled early in 2011-12 before finishing on a high note during the regular season and tournament portion of ACC play…left-handed shooter who possesses good strength and showed the ability to finish around the basket…sat out the 2012-13 season after suffering a tear of his Achilles tendon in the summer during a conditioning drill…rehabbed during the fall and practiced in limited contact situations toward the latter part of the season…participated in a scout team role through much of the ACC slate…first Clemson basketball signee from the Philadelphia area since Johnny Miller, who played for the Tigers from 1997-99 after transferring from Temple…came from a winning high school program…attended the same school as former Syracuse star Hakim Warrick and Amile Jefferson, a freshman at Duke in 2012-13…recruited by Mike Winiecki…majoring in parks, recreation & tourism management…member of the All-ACC Academic Team as a freshman, one of four players from Clemson named to the team.
In Italy (August 2013): Averaged 9.8 points per game, fourth-best of the 11 players that suited up for the Tigers over the four-game period…reached double figures in three of four games, with a high of 13 in the opener vs. Indiana Pesre…averaged 18.3 minutes per game and added eight assists and four steals…scored 11 points against both Dream Team Italy and Airte…made 9-of-12 free throws (.750) on the trip.
In 2012-13: Red-shirted due to injury.
In 2011-12: Appeared in 22 games for a total of 219 minutes…after playing only eight non-conference games and scoring just two points prior to ACC play, he competed in 15 conference games (including the ACC Tournament) and scored 55 points…averaged 6.8 points per game over Clemson’s final eight contests, where he played in seven of them…began the year making just two of his first 21 field goal attempts, but finished strong by converting on 21 of his final 43 shots, nearly a 50 percent rate…missed his first 11 three-point shots at the college level, but made 3-10 down the stretch for the Tigers…shot 73 percent from the free throw line…averaged 1.3 rebounds per game…had just 11 turnovers in 219 minutes, with 10 assists…had nine steals, all against ACC teams, including at least one in each of Clemson’s final three games…played double figure minutes against nine ACC teams.
Best Games of 2011-12: Finished the season strong by leading the Tigers in scoring for the first time all year…posted 15 points in the first round of the ACC Tournament against Virginia Tech, making 6-10 shots and 2-2 free throws…scored nine points on three occasions, first at Wake Forest where he made 4-5 shots, including a three-pointer in the first half…produced nine points in 23 minutes of Clemson’s win over a ranked Virginia team…made 4-7 shots in that game…played 18 minutes on Senior Night against Virginia Tech and made 3-6 shots for a total of six points…added three steals and four rebounds in that win…posted nine points at Florida State, the final game of the regular season…made 4-11 in that game and added two steals…scored four points, all on free throws, at Virginia…played 11 minutes against Florida State at home and had two rebounds and two assists…scored two points in eight minutes at The Citadel.
In High School: Three-star prospect according to ESPNU…played for the U.S. All-Stars in the 2011 Capital Classic in Upper Marlboro, MD…tied for team-high honors with 19 points in that all-star game…McDonald’s All-America nominee…averaged 16.2 points per game as a senior…two-time first-team AA all-state selection…named first-team All-Southeastern Pennsylvania Boys Basketball as a senior by the Philadelphia Inquirer…four-time All-Friends League selection…named first-team All-Main Line his final three seasons…led high school to three straight state championships among independent schools, he scored 17 points in the championship final as a senior…led team to two consecutive Friends League championships…scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in a narrow loss to USA Today’s No. 2 ranked school, St. Anthony (NJ) on Feb. 6, 2011…St. Anthony was named the high school national champion by MaxPreps after producing an unblemished 33-0 record…named Most Valuable Player at the 2010 Big Apple Invitational…posted 30 points and 12 rebounds in championship game against Quality Education Academy (NC)…led I-3 All-Stars to three consecutive championships at the annual Donofrio Classic, a tournament pitting teams comprised by the best players in Southeastern Pennsylvania against each other…he was Co-MVP of the 2011 event and also the 2010 MVP after scoring 31 points in the championship game…scored 15 points in the Mary Kline Classic in May of 2011, an event that benefitted cancer research…posted career totals of 1,528 points, 602 rebounds and 128 three-point goals…coached by Jason Polykoff…born Dec. 18, 1992.
