Spencer caught the Clemson coaching staff's eye scoring fifty points in two games at the Adidas Uprising Summer Championships in Las Vegas a few weeks ago. Brownell went to most of his high school games during his junior season. The under-the-radar prospect had early offers from Clemson, East Carolina, Kansas State, Murray State, Richmond and others. Steve Smith is the recruiter of record for Clemson for the talented wing scorer. In 2014, he averaged 11.8 points and five rebounds on 41 percent shooting while leading his team to the State championship in March. He played three seasons at Nansemond River high school before transferring to Blue Ridge high school. He plans to study biomedical engineering at Clemson.
