Today is the NBA trade deadline (3 p.m EST) and the 76ers were able to get a young player and a draft pick since they were not going to be able to re-sign McDaniels. McDaniels will be in line for a hefty pay raise when he becomes a restricted free agent this summer. He has averaged 9.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, 1.3 assists and 0.8 steals in 25 minutes per game in his rookie season. Other players that have been traded today include Kevin Garnett, Arron Afflalo, Brandon Knight, Michael Carter-Williams, JaVale McGee, Ramon Sessions, Goran Dragic, Pablo Prigioni and many others. Philadelphia has traded K.J. McDaniels to Houston for Isaiah Canaan and a second round pick, league source tells Yahoo Sports.

has been traded to Houston on Thursday for second-year guard Isaiah Canaan and a second round pick according to multiple reports. McDaniels will more than likely come off the bench to spell Trevor Ariza at the small forward position.
