What is your suggestion?

Mar 12, 2021, 9:30 AM

Should Clemson have advanced out of the loser's bracket to this game after losing to a 9-16 team with 6 scholarship players?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

yes. thats a good suggestion actually!

What do you mean, "how does that happen"? Isn't it clear?

Apparently

Corona only affects ACC games, all other leagues seem to be immune from the virus! I blame Swofford!!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well, this is cool.

Not like we blew a chance to finally win this tournament or anything. Yeah right.

I mean, I’d much rather win it the hard way. But we at least could’ve got that monkey off our back if we had just shown up.

That is exactly how I feel about the situation. The only year that we were talented enough to win the ACC tournament with Tobacco Road having a down year, and we played with a square ball. It's absolutely pathetic that Brownell didn't have out team ready to perform at their best. The way that I see, and feel about that loss, it was absolutely on Brad Brownell alone!!!! Because Brad dropped the ball with the best chance in our program history to claim the ACC title, he no longer deserves to be the HC of our basketball team/program!!!!

For decades I have advised fellow Clemson fans attending the ACC tournament to not bother packing a toothbrush.

I don't know !!!!

As inconsistent as this team plays, there are clearly no gimmes.

We've lost our minds...

at some point life has to get back to normal... someone has to be first to say "ok, it's a virus... play on."

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah none of this is legitimate competition

Mar 12, 2021, 1:10 PM

Hopefully we avoided the Covid while we were in Greensboro for a few minutes!

That was Brownell's master plan.

Get out quickly, avoid COVID, and rest for our deep run in the NCAA Tournament. ;)

You never know.
Perhaps the other 67 teams in tourney all get it and we win a natty!

Coach K was right was right months ago. The season should have been cancelled because just like football, there will never an end to the what ifs.

The football season was a success. Both NFL and College. There have been disruptions in basketball, but the vast majority of games have been played and I don't think you'll find many people that agree with the idea that the season should have been canceled.

Kentucky coach called for season to be cancelled due to CV, but in fact he knew his team sucked since the FBI stole all his money to buy the players he wanted.

So, how does this affect their NCAA bid? How will UVA be out

"To play in the NCAA tournament, a team needs to show seven consecutive negative daily tests before arriving in Indianapolis, then undergo daily testing while inside the controlled environment there."

They will need 5 guys to test negative daily right up until the day of the tourney.

Make the sick one sit and let rest play!!

Mar 12, 2021, 5:28 PM

At this point, I haven't heard of a single student athlete being placed in the hospital from Covid. Basically young healthy athletes have almost zero serious symptoms from it but we can quarantine the positive students and rest get to play. Stopping an entire team from playing is ridiculous at this point.

and your degree in public health or epidemiology came from where? Follow the science and the health recommendations and we will get over this - with a little luck we may even have something much more like normal in the fall. This year is what it is and we got in a lot of games in both football and basketball so be glad for that and quit griping about taking care of our students, coaches and fans. Surprisingly, many of us actually care about our children, grandchildren, parents and grandparents for more than winning a game.

It seems like the Heels would be the ones currently in protocol, since they played Duke 5 days before Duke's positve test.
