WATCH: Richie Shaffer gets silent treatment as he hits his first MLB home run |
Former Clemson standout
Richie Shaffer
Richie Shaffer Shaffer hit a solo dinger in the seventh inning of the Rays' 11-3 win over the Chicago White Sox. He was 1 for 4 with the home run, two runs and a walk. His former Clemson 2010 teammate Kyle Parker also hit his first major league home run on Tuesday night. Shaffer's teammates ignored his first major league home run so Shaffer jokingly high-fives air and hugs imaginary teammates. Shaffer also got a congratulatory ice-bath shower from his teammates during a post-game interview. WOW!! Awesome night, awesome win, first one in the books...! Everything you could've asked for! What a night!
