COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON OVERVIEW • College of Charleston is led by second-year head coach Matt Heath, who served as the pitching coach there under head coach Monte Lee. • The Cougars swept Towson at home in three games last weekend. They are hitting .285 and have a 5.42 ERA and .973 fielding percentage. • Tommy Richter is hitting .389, Luke Manzo is batting .347 and Logan McRae is hitting .333 with 12 homers and 48 RBIs. QUICK HITS • Clemson, Louisville and North Carolina have clinched spots in the 12-team ACC Tournament at Louisville, Ky., from May 23-28. • Tiger head coach Monte Lee served as head coach (2009-15) at College of Charleston after lettering four years (1996-99) for the Cougars. • Clemson defeated College of Charleston 8-4 in Mount Pleasant on March 21 behind four home runs, including two by Chris Williams. ANDREWS PITCHING IN SIXTH SEASON • Graduate righthander Patrick Andrews is in his sixth season in the Tiger program. • He has made 81 career appearances, tied for seventh in Tiger history, and 80 career relief appearances, third in Clemson history. • In 2017, he is 0-0 with a save, 2.87 ERA and 16 strikeouts against two walks in 15.2 innings pitched over 13 relief appearances. • He is holding opponents to 3-for-21 (.143) with runners in scoring position in 2017. • In his career, he has three saves, a 3.65 ERA, .251 opponents’ batting average and 93 strikeouts against 37 walks in 111.0 innings pitched.
