Thank you. Yes, some of us were offended. I have a granddaughter who has Down Syndrome and this is a word that we hate in our family. This word does not describe her. She works hard at her school work and reads very well. She never meets a stranger and we adore her. This word really does hurt. I know this cancel culture has gotten ridiculous, but I believe this is different than the crazy cancel culture ideas. She is only 9 now and her friends at school love her. But I dread the day that someone will call her this word and she realizes what it means. I know he did not have any intention of hurting anyone, but it is still a word a lot of us really hate.
