Spot the Ball

I hate to wish my life away, but I loved waking up Tuesday and seeing the first day of September.

It's been eight months since we last saw Clemson play football against someone other than themselves.

The last time we saw this team they were dominating Oklahoma 40-6. Since then it has been somewhat entertaining watching Brad BrownellBrad Brownell

, but it isn't Clemson football.

Recruiting was fun. Spring ball and the spring game was football, but its still only practice.

I loved more exposure to the pre-season practice this camp, but like Allen Iverson said, "We talkin' 'bout practice."

This ends at 12:30 Saturday, and I am about to jump out of my skin waiting on it to get here.

This offseason has been as long as any I can remember. Maybe because the Tigers don't open up against an exciting opponent like Georgia, Auburn or Texas A&M.

Usually I like the offseason, especially when expectations are high because there are so many benefits. The publicity is great. The exposure and talk about the high expectations are great for your program, but I have reached a point where I am as excited about Clemson football as I have ever been.

said, "The best is yet to come." I believe that. I believe Clemson football is about to explode. This program is in the best shape I have ever seen. The present and future are as bright as I have ever witnessed, but I need for Saturday to get here.

Former Clemson assistant and current Arizona head coach Rich Rodriguez used to say, "Spot the damn ball." I agree. Let's do this. It's been too long.
