Mickey,

It would have been awesome to have had Gary commit to the Tigers, but I think that was a stretch. I am just fine with Dexter Lawrence. What has really amazed me is how they were able to pull such elite DBs in at the last minute. Mullen and Simmons will be great additions. We had to have known or at least speculated that Mac and Kearse were going to leave early, so the coaches must have been talking with these guys about that. Green leaving was the big surprise, so Mullen really helps fill that gap. This just shows how a top brand gets things done. Of course, good recruiters and coaches helps!

Stuart

Stuart,

It says a lot about the status of this program when they are able to get in on very good prospects that late and still sign them. This program is rolling now and the best news is the 2017 class has a chance to be even better.

Mickey:

Do you know if Tanner Muse is playing baseball this spring? He was highly sought after in high school, I believe.

Joe

Joe,

No, Muse is football only and has a big spring ahead of him as he competes for a spot on the depth chart.

Mickey,

Is Zerrick also considered an ATH? I thought I saw that somewhere.

Stephen

Stephen,

No, Cooper is a quarterback. In fact, he is a pocket passer. Cooper is a good athlete, but he is not the runner that Kelly Bryant is. Cooper is an accomplished passer who wowed Clemson's staff at camp.

Mickey,

I think our recruiting has set us up to become an elite program. Ohio State, Alabama, and FSU have each won a national championship recently. Until we win our second national championship we will not have reached the same elite status as those three programs.

Best,

Kirk

Kirk,

You have to be able to sign players of the caliber of the elite to be elite. Clemson is just now arriving at this status while OSU, Alabama and FSU have been there a few years before. Clemson is coming.

Hello Mickey,

A couple of questions for you.

I’ve always enjoyed Tiger Basketball, even in our mediocrity. This year has been a surprise as you have so noted! Do you think that the stellar home wins against, Pitt, Louisville, Duke, FSU, and Miami is a result of playing in the Bon-Secour Arena in Greenville? Is there more energy because of more fans in attendance a better "fung shui” or what (I usually make it to one or two games a year, but have not been able to go this year yet)?

During the baseball team interviews this past week, I noticed the continued respect and admiration given to Jack Leggett when the players were asked “how are things different this year from last, and the new coach?” Even Monte Lee said the same thing, but added that the tigers were going to be more aggressive at the plate and in pitching. Have you seen anything different?

You’ve got a great show! I used to listen to it via web feed in Europe, and now still try to having relocated back to Charlotte. However, the last month or more the WCCP 105.5 Roar feed has been awful. It cuts out, it runs in loops…etc. As a result, I have quit listening. I would think, given the size of Clemson nation that WCCP is selling itself short. One would think that WCCP’s advertising potential would increase if they updated their technology. There is no Clemson news in Charlotte but a significant fanbase exists here. Perhaps creating a App for easy access to its shows, especially your own, would get WCCP and your show beyond Clemson, Six Mile, Pendleton, and Seneca and into folks iPhone during their commute to work in Atlanta, Charlotte, and beyond. What gives?

Nathan

Nathan,

I think Greenville has done a great job of making the best of the situation. Greenville has shown support, and it has helped. I do think it helps to make shots too. LOL. You have to give the fans a reason to show up, and Jaron Blossomgame and his teammates have done just that.

I only went to one fall scrimmage and one scrimmage in the first weekend of practice, so I have a limited sample size. Lee is very hands on and very positive. I like his style. He reminds me a little of Dabo. However, I don't expect a lot out of this team. There is a reason Clemson made a move. The program has fallen. Lee will turn it around, but it will take a couple of years.

We have an app for your smart phone. Check it out. I think you will it.
