Mickey,

It seems like I haven't heard much about our running backs this spring.  Does this mean that none of our running backs are stepping up and doing well?  Do we just have average running backs on scholarship, or is there just not much being written about them.  Thanks!

David

David,

There has been so much attention on the quarterbacks this spring that other battles have been overlooked by many. I think the right tackle position may be the biggest weakness at this point. The wide receivers are also smaller and less experienced but quarterback has dominated the talk. As far as running backs are concerned they have been competing. I don't think there is a dominant number one back to this point. D.J. HowardD.J. Howard

. Your creditability is not worth defending this program right now. Just admit that this team is not very good and like the last few seasons, this team is going nowhere.

Todd

Todd,

People on both sides of this argument have accused me of being against them. The Leggett supporters say I am too hard on him. They point out how difficult the job has become and point to his record and his success in the past. Fans on your side say I am too soft and call me an apologist. They point out his record against South Carolina, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida State and Miami.

For the record, I am not satisfied with where the program has been the last few seasons. My expectations are for this team to win the Atlantic Division at least every two or three years. I expect this team to host regionals at least every other year. I expect this program to host super regionals every other year or so. I expect this team to go to Omaha at least every three years or so. When they fall below those expectations then they disappoint.

I don't care about people's personal feeling for Leggett. All I care about is the program and living up to the high expectations that he and Bill Wilhelm set for this program. Clemson is one of the nation's best baseball traditions and I am hopeful that returns soon. I am very disappointed in this team. The bullpen has been a mess. The defense has been embarrassing. Fundamentals are lacking. Hopefully the Tigers can turn it around in Charlottesville this weekend.

Mickey,

I am going to the spring game for the first time. What do I need to know about the logistics? Parking? Thanks and I enjoy your show and blog!

Tim

Tim,

Thanks for the kind words. Parking is free and on a first come first serve basis. Most of the major parking lots will be open. Admission is free as well and seating is general admission. They expect a big crowd of around 40-50 K. If you have kids, they have a big event on the lawn at Littlejohn that is free from 10 AM to 2 PM. The Sons of Clemson Bowl is played around 1:30. It features some of the past greats of Clemson football. Hope this answers some of your questions. If you need any other info you can go to www.clemsontigers.com. Hope you guys have a great time.
