Different Tech Experiences
The week couldn't have been different for the feeling surrounding the Clemson basketball and the last two games against two different Techs. His team got off to a slow start on the road and suffered one of the most disappointing losses of the year last night at Georgia Tech. The starts helped lead to the differences on offense. Obviously there is a huge difference in 75 points Saturday and 52 points last night.

The Tigers were hitting from three like no other game this season Saturday. The Tigers hit 11 three pointers and shot 38% from behind the line. Last night Clemson made only four threes and shot 26% from behind the three point line.
The field goal percentages also told a different story. Against Virginia Tech the Tigers shot 47% from the field. Against Georgia Tech Clemson shot just 36% from the field.

View Full Profile scored eight of the game's first ten points in leading the Tigers to a 10-0 lead. He helped the Tigers to an 11-29 performance from three point land. Roper had 21 points Saturday.
Last night the Tigers struggled on the offensive end early last night and Roper was a good example of this. He was held to just six points last night.
It seems like Roper has become the biggest indicator of Clemson's success in recent weeks. In the last five wins Roper has had 12 against Wake Forest, 18 versus NC State, 24 against Boston College, 13 at Florida State and 21 against Virginia Tech.
In the last three losses, Roper had 10 at Miami, only two against Notre Dame and six against Georgia Tech last night.
In the last five wins Roper has averaged 17.6 points. In the last three losses, he has averaged six points.
I think last night's loss really hurt the momentum of this season. Clemson has now lost three of its last four games. The four game winning streak from earlier this month has given way to this current bad stretch and Duke is waiting in Cameron on Saturday.
A loss Saturday means the Tigers would fall to 7-8 in the ACC. That record combined with some bad losses early in the season means the Tigers' RPI will fall short in the eyes of the NCAA tournament committee. The next goal would be to get into the NIT tournament, then go from there.
Lets hope the future gives us the confident Tigers that dominated Virginia Tech, instead of the cold shooting Tigers that fell at Georgia Tech.
