Before Clemson: All-state as a senior … all-region as a junior and senior … team MVP … set the school record for career passing yards and career passing touchdowns … lettered four times in baseball and four times in football at Greenville High School, where he was coached by Joey Golinski.

Personal: His cousin, Will, was a junior starting punter on Clemson’s 2019 team … his father, Michael, hit .301 with 16 homers, 110 RBIs and 32 steals in 184 games over four seasons (1988-91) at Clemson … his uncle, Bill, hit .325 with 34 doubles, 17 triples, 17 homers, 119 RBIs, 169 runs and 60 steals in 173 games over three seasons (1985-87) at Clemson and has been a member of the Tiger football staff since 2016; first-team All-American in 1987 before being drafted in the first round; played 13 seasons (1989-01) in the majors with the Brewers, Mets and Astros and totaled 922 hits, most by a former Tiger … his grandfather, Bud, hit .254 with seven homers and 44 RBIs in three seasons (1956-58) at Clemson … majoring in management … born William Carson Spiers on Nov. 11, 1997 in Greenville, S.C.
