Update: Stitt Out Two Weeks After Surgery

by - Correspondent -

CLEMSON - Freshman point guard Demontez Stitt underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his knee Thursday afternoon, one day after tearing a ligament in practice.

He is expected to miss two weeks while recovering from the procedure.

"Obviously this is a big loss for us, but thankfully only for a short period of time," said head coach Oliver Purnell. "This means everyone now has to hitch up their belt, so that as a team we can make up for his absence as we continue to compete in the ACC."

The freshman point guard from Matthews, NC has started all 20 games this season, averaging 8.9 points and 3.1 assists per game.
