Tigers Resume Bowl Preparation In Atlanta

by -

ATLANTA - Clemson began its final week of bowl practice on site in Atlanta with all eligible players present. Coaches, too.

The first workout at the Georgia Dome went off without a hitch Monday morning. All players reported by the appointed deadline on Christmas night, and the Tigers got a full workout inside the confines of the dome as preparations for the New Year's Eve Chick-Fil-A Bowl.

"There are some new wrinkles you'd like to put in," head coach Tommy Bowden said. "But this close to the game now it's all about (preparing for) Auburn. We did some (other things) back in Clemson, but as far as offense, defense and special teams, it's all geared toward Auburn now."

Bowden said the first workout went well, and said the dome had something to do with it.

"I think they like the surroundings," he said.

Clemson is scheduled to work out Thursday-Saturday mornings and take the traditional day off before game day.

Meanwhile, offensive coordinator Rob Spence was also on hand for the practice. He didn't meet with the media after practice, and Bowden said there was no update on Spence's interview with Tennessee.

The Tigers were to participate in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl welcome party by Fire of Brazil early Wednesday afternoon, while in the evening the team is scheduled to tour the Georgia Aquarium.
