Clemson student-athletes had a 2.80 GPA overall, the second highest fall semester on record. Only a 2.82 overall GPA in the
fall of 2003 is higher. Two-hundred-and-twenty-eight
student-athletes were named to the academic honor roll (3.0 or better), the fourth highest total on record, and the second highest on record for a fall semester. There were 39 student-athletes named to the President's List (perfect 4.0), the fourth highest total on record.

"Overall we are proud of the academic performance of our sports programs," said Athletic Director Dr. Terry Don Phillips.
"Our coaches work very well with our academic staff. Becky Bowman and the Vickery Hall staff do a wonderful job with our academic
support. Also, we are very grateful to IPTAY for not only funding
student-athlete scholarships, but also for the funding of Vickery Hall."

Six programs had a 3.0 or better, led by the women's swimming team who had a 3.38 team GPA for the semester. A record 34 Clemson women's swimmers made the academic honor roll, including nine who had a perfect 4.0.
