After practice audio from Tommy Bowden: Windows Media

Bullet points from head coach Tommy Bowden following Clemson's Wednesday practice:

- Offensive linemen Roman Fry and Nathan Bennett were back at practice, as was defensive tackle Rashaad Jackson. Bowden said the team was beat up a little, but it will be like that all season long. Those players will play, but they're not 100 percent.

- Still no official word on who will start at middle linebacker. Bowden said they are still looking at a number of options and preparing for all of them. It's just a matter of which way they decide to go.

- Bowden said it's hard to tell if the other linebackers are having any sort of mental/emotional hangover from losing Anthony Waters last week. He said practice is so regimented that he likely won't know until Saturday's game at Boston College (3:30 p.m., ABC) kicks off.

- Upon hearing that quarterback Will Proctor said his "chest was about to explode" waiting at the top of the hill last Saturday before his first start as a senior, Bowden chuckled and said he'd better get used to it. Because Will hasn't played a lot in the last four years, he probably didn't get many pregame butterflies. But now they'll be there virtually every game.

- Bowden singled out Dorrell Scott as one of the young defensive linemen who stood out vs. Florida Atlantic.

- He doesn't believe his team will forget what it was like to be "whipped up front on both sides of the ball" last year vs. Boston College. He said if they do, it won't be from a lack of him reminding them.

- The first five offensive linemen should play more this week as opposed to vs. FAU. Bowden said he would be less likely to rotate as much because of the way his starting five struggled against BC a year ago.

- One of the backups who may have forced his way into more playing time, however, is tackle Christian Capote. Bowden said there were times vs. FAU where Capote was more aggressive than the man in front of him on the depth chart, Marion Dukes.
