CLEMSON -- Clemson basketball freshman Raymond Sykes underwent successful surgery on Wednesday, April 12 to repair the scaphoid bone in his left hand. A pin was inserted in his hand to help repair the bone. The expected recovery time for the injury is four months, according to team athletic trainer 'Raz' Razayeski. This should not affect his status for the 2006-07 season.
Sykes, a native of Jacksonville, FL, appeared in 22 games with four starts in 2005-06. He averaged 1.1 points and 1.1 rebounds per game and also posted eight blocked shots in limited playing time.
