Daniel running back and 2014 Clemson commit Jae’lon Oglesby has been busy since the end of football season, helping his Lion basketball team reach the Class AAA boys basketball Upper State final Saturday night at the Bi-Lo Center.
The Lions lost the game 64-60, missing out in overtime on a chance to play for the state championship, so Oglesby will now turn his attention back to football and his recruitment.
He also tells anyone who will listen that football is his favorite sport, despite leading the Lions with 14 points in Saturday’s loss.
“It has been good being with my teammates on the basketball team, guys like seniors Adrien Dunn

Oglesby committed to the Tigers last June, and has been a solid commitment to his hometown school, but did say that he wants to take advantage of all his official visit opportunities.
“I do want to take some visits,” Oglesby said. “I am not sure where I want to go right now, though. I am hearing a lot from schools like LSU, Tennessee, Florida, Oregon, South Carolina and Florida St. I got an offer from Tennessee, but I don’t think any other offers are coming right now. They know I am solid to Clemson.”
Oglesby said the visits are merely a product of wanting to make sure he made the right decision in choosing Clemson and taking advantage of the opportunity to see other schools while he has a chance.
“It is like taking a vacation,” he said. “I just want to take all of my visits while I am in school. But I am still very solid to Clemson. I don’t see that changing. I am 100 percent committed to Clemson.”
