Clemson’s 2013 recruiting class - a source of concern for Clemson fans just six or seven short weeks ago – is alive and well.

The Clemson coaching staff added the 14th commitment for the 2013 recruiting cycle - and third commitment of the day – when 4-star running back Tyshon Dye Tyshon Dye

– and is the seventh for the Tigers out of the state of Georgia this recruiting cycle after being shut out of the state a year ago.

The Elberton (GA) Elbert County prospect chose the Tigers over Tennessee, Southern Cal, South Carolina, Auburn and many others.

Dye had told TigerNet earlier that he liked Clemson’s small-town atmosphere.

“I like Clemson because I am from a country town,” he said. “It’s not real big, and Clemson is a great school and football program in a place that reminds me of home. That is one of the best things I like about it.”

Dye was recruited by offensive coordinator Chad Morris and running backs coach Tony Elliott.

“Coach Elliott is a great recruiter, and I have a great relationship with him,” he said. “He checks in with me on Facebook and stuff, and I really like talking to him. Coach Morris is a great guy, and he let me know on my visit that I was high on their list, their number one running back remaining.”

As a junior, Dye rushed 212 times for 1.516 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also caught 17 passes for 198 yards and had 187 yards on six punt returns.
