TigerNet spoke with Clemson Athletic Director Terry Don Phillips and asked him to officially respond to reports that Oklahoma defensive coordinator Brent Venables - who interviewed with head coach Dabo Swinney Dabo Swinney

this weekend - was already in line for the job or had accepted the position.

"There is nothing to report," Phillips told TigerNet. "Coach Swinney is working as fast as he can to get something done, but there is certainly nothing done and nothing to report at this time."

Phillips declined to comment on whether Swinney would interview former Miami head coach Randy Shannon. He also said that Venables was "impressive" during the interview process.

Swinney watched Clemson’s basketball loss to Duke Sunday night with his family at Littlejohn, not with Venables.
