We’re not definitively saying the Gainesville quarterback is the absolute best player in the area -- there’s too many good ones to make that definitive statement. But you could conceivably make that argument about the Red Elephants sophomore -- which is impressive enough. The 6-foot-4 signal caller tallied seven touchdowns for the second straight week in Gainesville’s first-round, 48-27 win over Dalton -- the mark tied his own school record. He also compiled 425 total yards -- 269 passing on 19 of 26 attempts. His blend of athletic talents and grasp of Gainesville’s spread offense make him both deadly and consistent. His 22-yard touchdown pass to Keyontra Harrison late in the third quarter was an absolute bullet, and his ability to pull the ball down and run in times of necessity (or by design) make him a nightmare to defend. And, he’s got two more years left to get better -- and more left this season...
